- This year's league will continue to be a KEEPER league. This means that you are allowed to keep 3 players from last year's final roster and also able to carry over players from your team this year for your team in next year's (2009) fantasy football league
- You are allowed to keep a maximum of 3 players, but you are not required to keep any players from your team last year. Keeper selections must be emailed to the commissioner before Sunday, August 24, 2008
- You are allowed to keep a player for a maximum of 3 years (The year the player was originally drafted counts as year 1 + the next 2 subsequent years)
- You are not allowed to keep any player that was drafted in the first 3 rounds (picks 1-36) of last year's draft. Only players drafted after the 3rd round are eligible to be kept
- For every player that you keep, you lose a pick in the draft that is 2 rounds higher than the round the player you kept was originally drafted (regardless of the owner that drafted the player). i.e. If you drafted Willis McGahee in round 7 of last year's draft (2007 draft), and you decide to keep him on your team for the 2008 league, you will forfeit your 5th round pick in the 2008 draft. If you decide to keep him again for the 2009 season, you will forfeit your 3rd round pick. In 2010, McGahee goes back into the draft pool because he will have hit his 3-year maximum on your team
- The only time you are able to keep a player drafted in the first 3 rounds is if the player is a keeper from the previous season. i.e. If you drafted Peerless Price in the 4th round last year and decide to keep him, you forfeit your 2nd round pick in 2008. You are allowed to keep Price for another year after that even though he was the equivalent to a 2nd round pick in 2008. You will forfeit your 1st round pick in 2009 to keep him again. In 2010, Price will go back into the draft pool
- If you want to keep a player that was undrafted, but you picked up as a free agent during the year, the player will be the equivalent of a 10th round pick. Therefore, you'd lose your 8th round pick in the next season's draft. You are not allowed to keep any players that you picked up as free agents after the 11th week of the season (even if he was originally drafted by an owner).
- If an owner wants to keep 2 undrafted players, the owner will lose his 7th and 8th round picks the next year. We will notate which player counts as the 7th round pick and which player is the 8th round pick. The following year he will lose his 5th and 6th round draft picks if he wants to keep both players again.
If a trade occurs during the season and an owner acquires another owner's 5th round pick (for example) and decides to keep that pick and his own 5th round pick, the owner will lose their 2nd and 3rd round picks the next year. The following year, the owner will lose their 1st and 2nd round picks. If the owner just wants to keep one of the players, they will lose their 3rd round pick the next year. The following year, the owner will lose their 1st round pick.
- When a new owner replaces a leaving owner, the new owner will inherit the team of the leaving owner and the same keeper rules will apply
